With more than 1500 employees Clark County hires workers from a wide variety of professions. From attorneys and Accountants to Sheriff Deputies Engineers and Mechanics. Clark County has a constant need for new team members to provide services for our community. Let’s get to know some of these hardworking professionals. My name is Derek Stutz. I’m a Highway Maintenance Specialist for Clark County Public Works Roads Division. We do anything from pot holing, crack filling, asphalt, snow plowing, de-icing, brush cutting, clearing site essence or any obstructions in the road. I like working for Clark County as a Highway Maintenance Specialist because of the scenery I get to see on a daily basis working with the community building relationships with the community and the people I work with. It’s like a big family here at Clark County. So right now we’re gonna be crack filling. When you drive down the road and you see cracks in the road. If we don’t fill those the water will get through and disturb the soils and the road will lose integrity. Working for Clark County is a good opportunity because of the benefits and the hours we work. We can be home at a decent time to spend time with our families. Are you interested in joining the Clark County team? See current job listings and apply online at www.clark.wa.gov/human-resources.
