I am a cashier. I am a merchandise processor. I am in food service. I am a janitor. I work in retail, but I am also a student. I’m also a student. I’m also a student. I’m also a student. Career Services is such a valuable resource to students. We offer many different services here, whether it be just kind of finding your path, your career path. Or doing resume, cover letter or coming to our great events and meeting some great employers there is so much we have to offer. Often times when students are looking for particular advice about a particular major or a particular industry Where is it that they turn? Is it relatives? Close family members? Friends? Neighbors that they know? We have hundreds of thousands of connections, not only in human resources, but hiring managers with local businesses and national businesses and we are comfortable speaking to students of all majors, all backgrounds, interested in small, medium, and large organizations. We’re here as a resource, but it’s ultimately up to the students to pick their major, pick their their career, but we try to guide them and help them along the way with a lot of
great online and in person resources. We put a lot of time and
effort in resources. We bring a lot of employers to campus, specifically for internship recruitment. Because, once we start working with a student their first year and hopefully onto their second year, by the time their ready to do an internship, and basically what they’re doing is bringing the information and the education that they learned in the classroom and bringing it to the work place. I will be a business woman, I will be an event planner. I will be a videographer. I will be a creditor. I will be a successful entrepreneur. I think it’s very scary for students trying to figure out the next steps after college. It’s a huge transition leaving college and kind of finding out what you want to do in the real world, so I think that we can help kind of alleviate some of those anxieties and help people move on confidently after school into a path that they are really gonna love.
