How To Have More Energy After Work [FOR SIDE HUSTLERS!]

Francesca: You have a side hustle. You have so many ideas and so much you want
to do, but you don’t actually know how to find the energy to do everything that you
want to do after a long day at work at your full-time job? I’m Francesca. I’m a Productivity and Time Management Coach
and founder of Redefine Productivity. For the best advice and strategies about productivity
and time management specifically for side hustlers and busy professionals subscribe
to my channel and make sure that you hit the notification bell so that you get notified
when I post a new video every Sunday. Francesca: If you’re watching this video right
now, you have already probably tried a lot of different strategies to keep your energy
high so that you can be productive after work, but nothing really works for you and you feel
tired after a long day at work, and your side hustle is suffering. In this video, I’m going to share with you
the strategies that I use to personally have more energy to work on my business after a
long, busy day at my full-time job and the same strategies that I also share with my
clients that really help them have more energy, have sustainable energy, so let’s get to the
strategies. Francesca: The first and most important thing
to do is to take intentional breaks all throughout the day. Why? Because if you are focused and productive
during the day but you never take breaks, you get to the end of a long day and your
full-time job feeling completely exhausted and drained. It’s just normal. You are human, and you have a limited amount
of energy every day. So, at the end of the day you won’t have any
energy left if you don’t take breaks during the day. You don’t want to run out of energy completely
by the time you get home because you still need to work on your business, right? Francesca: So, you want to intentionally take
breaks of about 10 minutes every 50 to 90 minutes of deep-focused work. Now, you don’t have to do it all throughout
the day for every single thing that you do, but you want to do it when you are working
on your core priorities for the day and your full-time job. Just make sure that during your breaks you
don’t just check social media. You want to get up, get some water, or go
for a quick walk, or chat with someone, but just don’t check social media. You want to reenergize during those 10 minutes. Francesca: Then you want to determine at what
time of the day you are naturally most productive, and you want to work on your priorities for
the day, on your most important tasks at that time. For example, if you are most productive from
10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. you need to use that time to work on your core priorities for the
day and to work on those tasks that are most important and also that require the most energy
from you. Francesca: You may be wondering “But how does
this affect my energy after work?” It does because you don’t need to make a huge
effort to focus when you are working during your most productive time of the day and the
time where you’re naturally most productive. Strategically using the most productive time
of the day for you is going to help you use your energy more efficiently so that your
batteries don’t run out completely by the end of the day. Comment below and let me know what is your
most productive time of the day. Francesca: My third tip is to leverage the
power of meditation, mindfulness, nature, and movement in general. Now we all know these are absolutely great
for your energy both mentally and physically. So, pick your favorite one, the one that makes
you feel the most energized during and after you do it and just do it. Make it part of your daily routine and don’t
skip it because you think it’s a waste of time because I promise you it’s not. And at the end of the day, you’re going to
see the benefits of that 10-minute meditation that you did during your lunch break. Francesca: For example, you could go for a
walk during your lunch break so you get some movement in and you get re energized by the
fact that you are moving your body, and also you’re out in nature. Meditation, mindfulness, movement and nature
they all have such incredible benefits for our energy both mentally and physically so
make sure that you really make them part of your daily routine. One of my favorite ways to keep my energy
high throughout the day and especially after work is to organize work dates with friends. Organizing work dates will keep you excited
about the work that you have to do even though you feel a little bit tired and you’d rather
just go home and lay on the couch. And it will also keep you accountable, and
it’s a great opportunity for side hustlers to keep hustling but also making it fun. Francesca: And talking about accountability
if you want to join other ambitious side hustlers and busy professionals just like you I have
a Facebook community where I share a lot of productivity and time management tips, and
I also provide a lot of accountability to help you work and keep working on your goals. So, all you have to do is to ask to join by
clicking the link in my description below. Francesca: So, now you have the best strategies
to keep your energy high all throughout the day and have more energy when you need to
work on your side hustle after a long day at your full-time job. However, keep in mind that having great energy
is something you need to be working on throughout the whole day and not just the moment you
feel tired. And this is also why I believe in habits,
in having good routines and habits. Francesca: Also, something for example that
can really help you with your productivity habits and routines is establishing having
a great morning routine that works specifically for you. If you want to craft your own morning routine
according to your own goals, your own needs, and your own schedule, then I have a free
workbook that you can download clicking the link in the description box below. It’s essentially a five-step process, and
I also have included a workbook and a habit tracker so that you can create important new
productive habits. Francesca: If you like this video, as always,
please comment below, like the video, and share it with your friends and colleagues. In the next video, I am going to talk about
effective focus strategies so that you can make the most of the time that you have available. So, make sure that you subscribe to my channel
and hit the notification bell so that you get notified when I post the next video. And as always have a great, productive day,
and I’ll see you soon.

Hi Francesca, I find I have more energy in the wee hours of the morning. If I wake up early and I'm productive right away, i find the productivity carries over to the other activities of the day…

  • Such a great video, and especially for those who are looking to reserve their energy after work for those passion and side hustle projects! 🙂
