What Are the Worst Problems for Florida Employers?

I’d like to ask business owners if they’ve
considered the question, what’s the worst that could happen with your employees? I’m Reed Bloodworth, managing partner of
Bloodworth Law in Orlando, Florida. We handle employment law and work with clients
across the state. We know that most companies have human resources
staff and an employee handbook which covers their company’s policy, procedures and best
practices. But here are a few scenarios that lead to
very serious employment law cases and will need an attorney to address and resolve: A CEO or other officer is accused of sexual
harassment by another employee. A disgruntled employee sells your proprietary
trade secrets to your competitors. A group of employees accuse your business
of failure to pay overtime. A pregnant employee is fired and accuses your
company of discrimination. A salesperson quits suddenly and steals your
clients to form their own company. A physician who was an employee of your medical
practice, and subject to a non-compete, quits and is now competing with your practice and
attempting to steal your clients. Any Florida business with 2 to more than 200
employees should have a Florida employment lawyer establish best practices and policies
before issues like these arise. Otherwise, will you know how to respond to
an employee who comes to your HR person and says: “I don’t want to sue anybody, but I don’t
know what else to do because I’ve got to make this stop. My supervisor harasses me daily and I can’t
take it anymore.” What would you do if you found out that one
of your employees had filed an EEOC complaint and you’re now going to be investigated? As a Florida employer, you should be prepared
for the worst that can happen, because it can and often will. Bloodworth Law represents Florida businesses
and can prepare you for whatever employee or employer problems that arise. Again, I’m Reed Bloodworth, the managing
partner of Bloodworth Law in Orlando, Florida. Give us a call. Let’s talk about how we can help your business.
